07/03/12 - It is with great excitement we announce our second major Urban Wayfinding project in Saudi Arabia, as we join hands with Knowledge Economic City Company. Our scope of work shall revolve around Phase One of the 4.8 million sqm site while considering and planning for the future phases which include residential, commercial and a new high speed rail station. Knowledge Economic City (KEC), one of the six economic cities under development in KSA, is another opportunity for our team to help create Madinah’s future. Already fully engaged in the Central Area of Madinah, the new development is just 5 km from our existing Urban Wayfinding package. This new project will allow us to plan the Wayfinding & Signage for a large portion of the City.
Our Clients have quickly begun to see the value in professional Wayfinding, our Consulting firm and expertise specializing in large scale Urban and Infrastructure projects. Wayfinding now has become a very important discipline in the planning of large environments, and we are thrilled to be at the forefront of this challenging field.
The project now under construction will see Phase one of our work implemented in early 2013. hide detail

01/10/2011 – Limah awarded the City of Madinah Wayfinding Masterplan. Residents and tourists alike in the Holy City of Madinah will soon be able to find their way with ease throughout the ancient and complicated city, thanks to Wayfinding Masterplan being developed by Limah. Madinah has undergone massive changes over the past few months by redeveloping the Central Area into a tourist and Islamic heritage destination. Madinah is home to Al Masjid al Nabawi (The Prophets Mosque), and is considered of tremendous value having a place in the heart of every Muslim due to it also being the burial place of the Prophet Mohammed. Muslims come from all over the world to visit the city, pray in the mosque and visit other significant sites in the city.
Pilgrims from 180 different nationalities every year make the journey from Madinah to Makkah with visitors typically staying in Madinah for 8-10 days. The City accommodates up to five million visitors during peak times. A large number of pilgrims choose to stay in Madinah’s Central Area due to its numerous hotels, malls, and restaurants.
Limah will provide the complete Wayfinding Masterplan, including Brand Strategy & Identities, design and implementation of signage, environmental graphic design and develop a street address system, building numbers with street names. hide detail

15/07/2009 - In lieu of reverting to the standard western style design of symbols and pictograms, Limah has undertaken a campaign of reworking International symbols and pictograms to be more respectful of the cultures in the MENA Region. The need for relevant cultural design inspired the first creation, known as “The Blue Meem”. To indicate Parking in signage, Limah combined the Standard English capital letter “P”, with the Arabic character of “Meem”. Although the English user still recognizes the “P” as Parking, Arabic users read the “Meem” which stands for Muawqif, or Parking in Arabic. “The Blue Meem” is quickly becoming a standard and recognized symbol for parking structures throughout the region. The entire MENA Standard Pictogram Family is being introduced on various Private Sector and Government projects. hide detail
