Eco-friendly Tourism in Sharjah
Al Hafiya Park in Kalba, Sharjah is part of Sharjah’s Kalba eco-tourism project, the largest one of its kind in the region. Based on the directives of Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the park was developed to provide leisure to local families as well as attract tourists. Apart from being a family picnic area, the park also aims to reduce environmental deterioration and killing of animals and plants as a part of the project. Combining environmental protection with tourism in specialized areas such as family, environment and heritage, the park is also a part of Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021, which aims to attract 10 million tourists by 2021.
Keeping in mind the vision and environment of the park, LIMAH provided a complete Wayfinding and signage design concept for the exterior of the park. The team worked from concept through tender phases, developing signage that guided the visitors through the children’s playground, animal viewing area, washrooms, prayer rooms and an administrative building effectively.
