Katara Phase IV

Modern Experience Within a Traditional Souk

The Katara phase IV spreads over 176,720 square meters and will act as a natural extension to the Cultural Village Master plan of Katara in Doha. Located on the eastern coast between West Bay and the Pearl, Phase IV of the master plan is a mixed-use development that comprises of residential, hospitality, commercial, retail, worship and other components.

The unique mixed-use development will draw inspiration from traditional Islamic cities to achieve an environmentally responsive model that will reduce the need for energy cooling and maintenance in the harsh desert environment. The site will include a souk vernacular element that will join the two hotels through public interaction and hence create a dynamic destination with a wide range of facilities that compliment the rest of the development and links its surrounding to create on continuous experiential space.

With a central souk surrounded by water front cafes and leisure and entertainment areas, the project will offer tourists a modern experience with the design reminiscent the traditional souk. LIMAH developed a Wayfinding master plan to enhance this important urban destination. The LIMAH team provided a site-wide signage strategy including exterior, interior and car park from concept through tender.
