How has LIMAH impacted the industry it has been working in?
When LIMAH started, wayfinding in this region was treated as an afterthought, something bolted on at the end of a project. We changed that conversation. By approaching wayfinding as a discipline rooted in human experience rather than signage production, we raised the bar for what clients expect and what consultants deliver. That shift is visible in the projects we have taken on, the scale we operate at, and the number of firms now talking about experience design in the way we were talking about it years ago.
Wadi Dahdal joined LIMAH as Executive Director in 2011, bringing with him a career built across two continents and some of the most demanding environments in the construction industry. He began in New York City as a project engineer, working alongside architects on private residences and public projects, developing the technical foundation that would define his career. After returning to the UAE in 2003, he worked with major industry players including Al Ghurair Construction and Al Jaber Group, before becoming General Manager at some of the UAE's most prominent signage and metal works fabricators. By the time he joined LIMAH, he had accumulated a rare combination: deep construction knowledge, project management rigour, and direct hands-on experience with the fabrication processes that determine whether a design lives up to its promise in the real world.
That expertise changed what LIMAH could take on. His arrival gave the studio the technical authority to pursue and deliver large-scale projects that few other consultants in the region could manage. His influence raised the quality of LIMAH's technical services and strengthened the bridge between design intent and project delivery, ensuring that exceptional human experiences are not just conceived in the studio but realised on site.
